Palais 02:16
so in conclusion the captains union, in nights of great confusion, it fell to the collusion. the survivors of it all fled for cover in shuttlecraft and cargo in search of new tomorrow. if it's so wrong why does it feel so right? collective bargaining's a universal right. the captains union was an illusion. it fell in the confusion with more than contribution from hostile forces with no remorses. they occupy. today, union hall now palais. let's place a marker for what ended that night and hope posterity takes up another fight.

Redshirts 04:07
the LCARS lights in the union hall are dim and barely used. and the punch cards that we used to use have been taken and removed. and the look you gave was pained to me as you digested the news that our beloved captains union had been violently overthrew. they'll put us out the airlock the minute that they know. they'll beam us into subspace. there's nowhere left to go. the pinpoints in the window resemble a snowfall against a midnight backdrop. take phenobarbital. another million light years to endlessly recall. another million light years, and nothing left at all. the LCARS lights in the union hall have gone completely out. the look you gave was pained to me as we faced directly out. they put us out the airlock the minute that they knew. they beamed us into subspace. the captains union, through.

They push you down and run to the lightning. The push you down. They put you down. Everything that was was theirs: the captains union, the captains’ minds, the captains’ souls, the captains’ chairs.

about

I drove past a Teamsters Union hall in Greensboro, North Carolina in late 2017 and got the idea to write a song about a (space) Captains Union. I ended up writing three. I just don't know all that much about organized labor, so I emphasized the captains instead. May they all rest in peace. Non punk rock influences include John Denver, Gene Roddenberry and Cameron Childress.

about

Oort Patrol North Carolina

A band's where is less important than its when. When Oort Patrol is from matters less than when they are - now.

The temporally ambivalent band claims their compositions are each gigantic hits in other timelines.

Our timeline, fraught as it is with war, strife and celebrity trials, has never been more in need of some hits. So here, and now, they are.
